The wire is such a dogchit series

Got ur attention, yeh it's not dogchit but grossly overrated. Just lol at it being ranked with the tried and tested goat tier like the sopranos

Watched it all twice, second time round to see if I could witness some hidden gems I missed first time round, but nope

Literally boring af besides a few pivotal scenes/episodes and the clever dialogue and gritty realism

tried to watch it 4 times. gave up after 4 episodes each time

The reason why people hold The Wire in such high regard was because there was nothing like it when it came out.

Nowadays you can't pull your dink out without hitting a Detective show on the head. The Genre has evolved so much since The Wire.

You have to think about it like when "True Detective" came out. It evolved the Genre with it's amazing story and production. The Wire was the True Detective of the early 2000s
