Three weeks since I've been back in the gym (vids included boyos)
Haven't lifted seriously since March, mostly just doing home workouts and stuff, did what I could with what I had but it isn't the same. But it's been 3 weeks since I've been back in the gym. I think strength is coming back nicely. Did 130 lbs OHP for 3 sets of 3 and 230 lb squats for 3 sets of 8 and it moved pretty well and easy. Not the best angles but for OHP you can see me in the mirror as well. In the next coming month or two I hope to shoot for something like a 185 lb OHP and a 405 lb squat.
Gained a lot of weight though. Went from 183 lbs in March and now hovering at around 200-205 lbs (fukn lol). I'm 5'9 prince of manlet tier so being 200+ lbs honestly isn't a good look for me lol. That and my conditioning doesn't feel great at this weight in terms of running/rowing/cardio, just too much extra weight. I want to lose weight slowly over the course of a year, probably get down to 180-185 but I'm not going to go full on calorie restriction/starvation to do it. Would rather just do some more conditioning/cardio type stuff like sprinting/rowing and not have a lack of food affect my workouts.
Maybe do another powerlifting meet or something in several months to a year provided things get back to mostly normal.
Anybody else in the same boat, just getting back into the gym and trying to regain some lost strength? Lets get it boyos and make lifting great again! Weakness is only temporary crew/positivebrah checking in!
Also did 2 sets of dumbbell rows and 2 sets of dumbbell bench press to failure. Was a great feeling to finally get back into the gym. I miss the atmosphere srs. If it gets shutdown again imma cry.
