Tonight I committed a crime...

Was alone in the trap earlier tonight, day 1 of my vacay with a tasty bottle of roc and thought “por q no¿?”

I like to smoke a black n mild when I get my drink on so I drove down to a gas station with a dollar fiddy in quarters which is how much they cost here. But once I roll up and make sure I had all my monies I realized that three of the “quarters” were actually 10 pence in the queens dollars. Was in the uk with friends before the rona hit. They look just like quarters, same size color etc but if you look at the heads, you’ll see a woman and not a guy so I knew immediately lol.

But at that moment it was no laughing matter to me. My heart sank at this realization that I had to drive all the way back home for my wallet since my pockets don’t have pants.

That’s when it came to me. Who could readily identify queen dollars at first glance?

I steeled my resolve, put on my mask and walked into the store, heart pounding. Told the guy “lemme get a black with the wood tip.” He grabs it and I produce the multi national currencies, laying it out for him at the counter. He stared down at them, counting the coins for what seemed like 5 seconds. Then was like “ok.” I took the black thanked him and tried looking inconspicuous by taking my time during my escape.

Guys. Am I going to hell?

Just go back tomorrow and buy something else and "accidently" leave your change to make up for it. I prefer a clear conscience, even for something minor.

Also, who pays for anything with change?!

I think that's the same thing G. Floyd did. Better where your spiked collar the next week or so.

There’s a minimum that you could buy with a card so I would’ve had to buy 2. I try not to smoke too much so I only wanted the one, I’ve gone thru half a pack in a day once. My real concern is that 30 pence is now being circulated around the country as quarters.

If you didn't try to conceal the fact it wasn't a quarter, it wasn't counterfeit, and the clerk looked at the money and decided to accept it, no crime committed.

I used Canadian coined mixed in with American coins to pay for chit all the time growing up in Erie PA. Not trying to fraud anyone, would just have them mixed in with pocket change and if I needed 3 quarters, the first three I found would be used.
