You can watch the news, just make sure to separate real news from fake news, tabloid trash and far-right propaganda outlets.

Use a site called mediabias to keep a tab on which outlets are reliable and which aren't.


I know it seems impossible given the wealth of Russian disinformation agents and propaganda machines which spew rubbish all over the internet, but it can be done.
