Chiropractors and snake oil
Why do chiropractors make it so difficult to take them seriously? It's like they're on a mission to destroy their own credibility. I've gone to a few different ones over the years on occasion, and they seem kind of equivalent to a physical therapist. They have helped with sore muscles, strains, and minor joint problems. But they're always hawking snake oil as well - essential oils, cupping, chakra balancing bullchit, etc.
Why? They have some actual medical capability, so why the snake oil?

- E-stim with heating pad
- 3-4 of the same cookie cutter 'adjustments'
- Treatment duration is always conveniently whatever my insurance covers for the year

Yep, exactly my assessment. They do provide some value, but ultimately the successful ones are an insurance racket.
Some are decent and are no BS(no required XRay, etc), but the ones who really lay it on thick and conveniently have every part of their program designed to utilize every dollar available from insurance are the real scam artists.
