Ps5 or Xbox X under your Xmas tree this year? (PC autists stay out)

Struggling to decide which to go for.

Xbox pros:

More powerful than PS5
Gamepass means you can play basically all games for not much money
Nicer controller IMO
Slightly bigger SSD
Fully backwards compatible IIRC
Xbox one controller will work with it (im pretty sure)

Xbox cons:
NO exclusive games for 2 years
Console itself looks quite ugly (imo)
No VR in the works
Can expand storage but need to buy Micro$ofts lame propitiatory storage modules
STILL uses AA batteries in the controller - stuck in the 90's.

PS5 pros:
Exclusives such as HZD 2
Very fast SSD
Improved controller
Sleeker design
Will support PSVR, hardware now can make much better use of it
Can expand storage with SSD as long as same speed as the built in SSD

PS5 cons:
Technically not as powerful as Xbox
PS4 controllers wont work with it
Smaller SSD
NOT fully backwards compatible


You get the gist. I'm no fanboy for either, I have a PS4 and Xbox One and like them both equally however the Xbox gets more use because I just prefer the controller.

I have both currently and I'm also undecided.

I am wondering if the price point is getting high enough to warrant just putting together a decent pc gaming rig though..

Booting up Windows just reminds me of work. No thanks.
Rather just throw a powerful console under the TV and kick back with my 55 inch 4k tv. You won't be able to build a gaming PC on par with these consoles power for anything close to the suspected RRP of the PS5 and xbox X
