My parents told me that I had aspirations to be a garbage collector. I don't remember the conversation, since I was probably 4-5 years old at the time. Driving the biggest truck on the road was the reason I wanted to be a garbage collector, they told me.
What's yours?

cop, grocery store checkout person, soldier, dentist. actually became an engineer.
“The Misc. is a stone-faced Uncle Sam with Popeye’s forearms and a cocked pistol in each hand. It’s a screeching bald eagle with a foreign Bad Thing in its talons. It’s everything that defines America’s bro culture, magnified and weaponized. But it’s deeper than that.“

When I was really little, a garbage man. Got a little older and wanted to be a cop. Then decided I wanted to do the Army (either make it a career, or get out and become a cop).
Only one I did was the Army.
Only one I did was the Army.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.
Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

I wanted to be a pilot as i was crazy about planes as a kid, with time i kind of grew out of it because I heard that pilots lived lonely and estranged lives (lol) In retrospect i wouldn't have a problem with that as I am kind of a loner. I became and architect instead and i love it so I don't regret how the path turned out to be tho

Lmao OP, when I was a kid I too went through a phase where I wanted to be the trash man. I used to run out every Saturday morning with popsicles for our garbage men. I idolized them and their noisy-ass truck. My parents later told me they once told them to seriously not let me grow up to be a sanitation employee lol.
I'm gonna make it

Didn't give a chit about any sport at the time. Played band in middle/high school but didn't wanna make a career out of that either. Honestly lacked a lot of direction getting older, I think I had it in my brain that being an esports guy or streamer would be the GOAT job. To this day I think that'd still be pretty sick, especially if you're fortunate enough to be popular enough for it to pay the monthly and collect some savings on top of it all by itself. Might revisit that in a year or 2 and make streaming games a consistent hobby, but not yet.
Wound up in a good field though with above average pay. IT esque field making $73k base, ~$95k gross after bonuses (not including benefits). Which is great for my cost of living lol. Can work from home too, which is nice, one of the same perks that would come from streaming games as a job.

Wanted to be an archaeologist. Later an architect. Truly enjoyed anthropology and art history.
But I'm poor at math and can't draw for chit so I moved toward landscaper architect/nursery industry. Didn't pay off and meandered into corporate life for awhile. Now considering radiology if I can't come up with something better along the lines of self-employment.
Maybe I can find something that starts with A.
Definitely seeing a trend here though...assistant manager, admin assistant, took astronomy for my science credit, gotta study anatomy (& physiology) for radiology.
