Pissed brahs: my bench sucks and I’m an idiot.

So I’ve been working out from home since covid. I have a really old bench I used when I was a teenager in my basement. It’s had plates racked for literally years and I’ve been benching what I thought was 185-205 this whole time for reps.

Turns out the plates I thought were 45lbs are fuking 35lbs...

I feel like a retard right now. Discouraged af. I’m so much weaker than I thought I was.

Write a "4" on top of the "3" with a sharpie.

Problem solved.

Probably going to.

Actually the thing is so rusted you can’t even read the numbers. I just assumed 45 because it was largest of the handful of plates I have and I honestly forgot they even made 35s lmao. Like I mentioned this is an old as bench that hasn’t been touched in like 9 years.

Don't beat yourself up over a math error.

You're still as strong as you were before you discovered the mistake - numbers don't mean chit

The race is long and it's only with yourself.

Thanks brahs. Better to find out now than failing in a few months when I’m under the bar at the gym.

Even with typical gym plates, most brands wont guarantee you actual 45 lb plates. You could have 40 lb plates or you could have 50 lbs plates
