What anyone who isn't a cultist has known from the beginning. He's lied to downplay the virus every time and you deniers just eat up his lies. Next time try listening to the experts instead of the pathological liar with 20k+ documented lies. Playing it down was the correct response. The absurd hysteria pushed (of course) by the media lead to a terrible, absurd overreaction. The cure was much worse than the disease. Lockdowns should never have occurred except maybe in disastrous hotspot hellholes like NYC.

Woodward sets up the question as "at a point you pivoted," suggesting trump began to take it more serious (interview was a few days after he declared national emergency.) So its reasonable for trump to have been saying, I wanted to play it down as not to incite panic, however we've reached a point where playing it down is no longer an option.

Iโ€™d have to hear the full recording to give a firm opinion. I donโ€™t think heโ€™s in the wrong for not wanting to create a panic over something we know little about. Iโ€™m not 100% in either camp as far as whether Covid is something to be feared or not. I simply donโ€™t know the truth about it because itโ€™s so polarized. What I do know is anything that CNN says about Trump is usually a half truth or flat out lie, so theyโ€™ve lost all credibility from me and a large portion of Americans.
