How dangerous is it to photograph lightning on my front patio area?

I've been photographing lightning and some other things as a hobby and have an overhang in front of my house where I sometimes set up my tripod and have a remote shutter release button. I watch the storm come in and just hit the button every minute or so on a long exposure hoping to catch some lightning. Was wondering how dangerous this is. There is a large tree in my back yard and my neighbors across the street and to my one side have a large tree. I stay under my roof overhang so I dont get wet. I'm in Florida if it matters.

tripod is fine. but its lot of luck

Luck not getting hit by lightning or luck getting the photo? I hold the shutter open and close it when I get a lightning bolt or just close it after ~60 seconds depending on time of day. And I sit under an overhang so the lightning would have to hit the house or ground near me. I was wondering how dangerous it is if I am wearing boots and sitting on a plastic chair holding a remote attached to a camera on a tripod
