What food place or market sells the best chocolate chip cookies?

I’ve tried every single fast food chocolate chip cookie and from my research Firehouse Subs makes the best ones.

Not a market or food place, but the Doubletree hotel has some pretty damn good cookies.

Also try Sara Lee in the mall.

If you prefer cookies from chain restaurants then you might want to check out the Nestle's frozen cookie dough because that is basically what they use IME.

Source: used to work at Subway when they had good cookies; frozen cookie dough chunks + specialized convection oven = good cookies

It has been quite a long time, but I don't think Subway has good cookies anymore. They probably switched to a cheaper dough made specifically for their chain to save money.

There is something about the aging of the dough and the carmelization of the sugar. IIRC Alton Brown addressed that and recommended making your own CC cookie dough a day ahead for this reason.

McD's fries (old school) were supposed to be so addictive for the same reason; something about the starches developing and that they were fried in beef tallow. Rarely encounter a good McD's fry anymore...undercooked/overcooked, under salted/over salted, and just not as flavorful as when they made them with beef tallow.
