A self-described "transexual Satanist anarchist" has won the Republican nomination for the sheriff’s job in Cheshire, N.H. -- a victory she says proves “the system is utterly and hopelessly broken.”

Aria DiMezzo, who ran with the campaign slogan “F*** the Police” in hopes of merely making a statement, won the nomination for Cheshire County sheriff on Tuesday. The victory was first reported by Inside Sources.

In a Friday blog post, DiMezzo said she opposes a system that allowed thousands of people to walk into a voting booth and vote “despite knowing absolutely nothing about the person they were nominating to the most powerful law enforcement position in the county.”

"I’m running for sheriff because I oppose that very system, and the sheriff has the most hands-on ability in Cheshire County to oppose that system,” she said. “The system that let you down by allowing me -- the freaking transsexual Satanist anarchist -- be your sheriff candidate is the same system I’m attacking. I’m sorry, and I know it hurts to hear, but that system is a lie.

“The entire thing is a lie. It’s broken from beginning to end, and my existence as your sheriff candidate is merely how this reality was thrown into your face,” she said.

All elected officials are part of a party, or independent. I think the only reason for local officials to join a party is to get campaign funding.

I've always thought that the voting system is a joke in modern day America. The biggest problem isn't about the law regarding who can vote, but the fact that it widely encouraged that people vote no matter how ignorant they are about politics and what they are voting about. People should not be encouraged to vote "just because." They should be encouraged to make informed voting decisions, and to refrain from voting/fill out partial voting ballots if they can't or don't want to do that.

Furthermore, the voting age should really be increased. 18 to vote is ridiculously low. Very few people that age (high schoolers or barely out of high school) have the capacity to make any sort of "informed" vote. People can't even buy tobacco until age 21 now in the U.S., but they can vote in any election. Give me a break. Also, people grow up a lot more slowly these days. 18 in the year 2020 is not the same as what 18 in the 1960's was. People always whine about how someone should be able to vote if they can fight in a war, blahblahblah. Yet most of those same people are all about increasing 2A civilian age restrictions, including for military people when they are in civilian life. Just abolish them being able to be drafted prior to legal voting age, problem solved.

Lastly, there should be voter ID requirements. Hell, these days, they could scan your ID when you go to vote that simply tracks that you did in fact vote in a given election, and anyone trying to use an ID that had already been accounted for that election isn't able to re-use it for that one. All voting should be done in person with paper ballots - again, establishing accountability. We can make voting a lot easier by implementing same day voter registration across the board. It has always blown my mind how people can be so upset with measures intended to create accountability for actual votes in elections to prevent voter fraud. The media and whatever simply telling you a bunch of liberal arts college professors did "studies" that showed no signs of significant voter fraud is not a convincing arguement on the matter. It really makes no sense that the same people who relentlessly whined that Russia "hacked" the 2016 election to make Trump win would be so against voter fraud measures.
