Cops pull over a Lyft driver—but they end up beating the Black passenger

A deputy with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia is on administrative leave after a video went viral of him putting a knee to a Black man’s neck and punching him in the face.

According to TMZ, the altercation happened on Friday. The victim and two friends were passengers in a Lyft that got pulled over because a tail light was out.

It now seems like these cops are doing these attacks on purpose, when they know what's going on in this country with the divide.

I didn’t watch the video so this is a general statement/question. Not specific to this incident.

I agree with you. You can’t do anything there, you have to take care of it in court after.

How does an average person with average resources (time/money/family/work) take a cop/police department to court?

The only answer I can think of is they don’t. I have even been told by legal professionals it isn’t a good idea. You know, because you will get Steven Averied.

Those anticipated negative consequences aside, people are just not in a position to battle for their constitutional rights. Cops know this. Lawyers know this.

It is easy to say it here on this forum, see watch....

Oh bro, all you got to do is just sue them afterward when they violate your rights.

However, putting it in action is much more difficult. People would rather just not deal with it.

well and if you've ever known someone to sue a government they have the benefit of time on their hands

i know someone who sued for a workplace accident of their husband for a government construction job that has been in court for15 years, that isn't that rare. Government wins lawsuits by attrition
