I spent the weekend in the Union Station area of Denver on a mini-vacation. There was this one ******* in a lotus or something ridiculous absolutely flooring it and spinning tires just going from red light to red light, up and down 17th street and Wynkoop. I know he was fronting, but I couldn't help but laugh at how soon he'll destroy that engine doing that

Pretty much this. And even though its insured, you worry about it getting scratched when driving, you cant really park it in supermarkets or something without worrying about someone hitting it or keying it out of jealousy. I've known people with lambos who've come back to a milkshake being thrown all over it. Another friend was driving in london in an Audi R8 and someone through a brick through the wind shield for no reason.

I've got a bmw touring for the daily which is comfy and pretty fast still etc. Use that as the daily / doggo car. Then sports cars for pub lunches / cruises / trips / investment etc.

I lol whenever i see someone in a 50-80k car.

Statistically speaking, >70% of the people driving those cars can barely afford them

That's more of a cope market than supercar owners.

The only people I know IRL who drive ferraris or lambos are multi millionaires or billionares. But I know plenty of 50k millionaires driving 2k a month payment brand new BMW or Benzes

That's how I feel too, although not as extreme as you put it OP. -200k would be true if the owner doesn't eventually sell it down the road when they wanna change vehicle. But nonetheless it's a depreciating asset, and even worse if you've got monthly payments and interest tied with it, especially considering that the cash could be put towards appreciating investments.

I appreciate nice cars as much as the next guy but ...

1. how often do you go faster than 70?
2. how inconvenient is worrying about car or parking?
3. y'know simply driving ferraris etc creates massive depreciation. So not only the shyt gas mileage but each mile might cost you $10-20 in depreciation. LOL.
4. Women only care about nice cars driven by CHADS not old bald guys or uggos
5. Even is said car gets you top-shelf pussy now you gotta take bish to Nobu

so yeah...all around a bad decision for most. Best position is to be able to drive whatever car and not worry about scratches theft etc.

OH yeah....all those dumbass cars are super uncomfortable & loud.
