I'd say the percentage of adult men over 25 that lift are about 5%. Smaller percent have impressive physiques even by irl standards.
I'm back, bitches!

34, almost 35. Wife is 32. We make it to the gym 2-3x week, but are overall pretty active.
90% of our friends are about the same......but that's probably skewed because I refuse to be friends/hang out with fat lazy people or people who are "too busy" to go to the gym but are fat and want to talk about all the tv shows they watch and they probably dont want to hang out with me, because we'd have nothing in common and I have no respect for people who choose to let themselves go or value the taste of food more than their health....there needs to be an understanding and a balance.

Less than 5% of Americans get 30 minutes of exercise a day.
Even less than that lift as their form of exercise.
Even less even look like they lift.
Literally less than 1% of people.
But you *******s complain about not being able to get women.

Alot of lifters at my gym don't look like they lift. They are in shape, but not enough muscle mass to fill a T or look swole in anything but a slim fitted shirt.
If by 'guys' you mean males, then I guess it would be a tiny minority, as they are mostly focused in the 18-35 range.

Only guys in my age group who look like they lift are at my gym. Old school, hardcore PL/bodybuilder gym.

In STEM, it ranged from 5% to 15%. Never explored the rest of campus because college is for ****s and degenerates.

I lived in a small town (10,000) with one gym. The gym probably had 200 members tops. Add another 100 or so that lift at home, so it's about 3%.

Among my close friends from school 4 including me currently lift, 6 don't. One is a personal trainer, one is tiny and you'd never notice he lifts let alone has been lifting for 15 years, the last one just started sports again after nearly a decade of no physical activity whatsoever, and I am a bloatmaxxed wannabe powerlifter.
Among the 5 nonlifters are 2 former lifters, who got injured and stopped, and 1 guy, who only plays soccer but kinda looks like he lifts. He is a supermanlet at 5'3 maybe that's why.

30.2% of the adult population meets the minimum muscle-strengthening exercise recommendations (two or more times/week). That's a really low bar to clear though....so guess, maybe 10% of that group look like they lift. Imma guess ~3%.

“The Misc. is a stone-faced Uncle Sam with Popeye’s forearms and a cocked pistol in each hand. It’s a screeching bald eagle with a foreign Bad Thing in its talons. It’s everything that defines America’s bro culture, magnified and weaponized. But it’s deeper than that.“
