At least if you remotely give a fuk about how you're viewed by the opposite sex or treated when you're in a restaurant. Everyone needs a pair of chit-kickers to take out the garbage in or run to the local CVS/7eleven in a rain storm, but you should not be going out in the fukers.

Went to bar with friends the other week, saw this girl checking out this guy at another table, saw her look down at his shoes and legit make this face.




It's not about stupid expensive brand whorey chit either. Just some respectable/clean runners or minimal style. And for fuks sake, buy some pants that fit that don't have your ankle swimming.

I had an old pair of gym shoes for entirely too long I must admit, I'm the worst at keeping shoes clean. Picked up a new pair of ultra boost 20s for the gym and cardio this past weekend.

If I'm going out to the bars, or dressing up I always have on boots.

Agree but would add to at least clean your shoes. If you have leather shoes, clean and oil them. If you have white soles, use a magic eraser. There’s tons of videos out there on cleaning shoes and making them look like new again.

Nike is my biggest single holding, though, as its a solid company. It's kicked ass through the pandemic because of mouthbreathers like the OP and his friends buying their overpriced shoes.

I get not wearing shoes that look like you picked them out of the trash, that goes for any clothing you wear, but at the same time it blows my mind how much money (women and men) blow on shoes. It seems like the uglier they are the more they cost. To each their own but I cringed the few times I had to buy dress shoes that were over $100.

I have some dress shoes that I spent $400 - 500 on. Just take care of them and they will do great.

An example. I bought these in 2016, rock them every Fall/Winter and they look great. I don't really like flashy stuff.
