I went into Manhattan yesterday

And omg what a chithole it turned back into. There was graffiti all over city hall and the court houses, homeless people everywhere. Half the stores were boarded up and not open. And then went into Chinatown to get food and there is antifa people at almost every corner begging for money and food. I’m a New Yorker but rarely go into the city since covid happened and don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.

I saw where a large group of Manhattan business owners contacted de Blasio this week begging him to address the spiking crime in the city and told them to pound sand.

Wife suggested taking a family vacation there this fall. Why would anyone want to go? I love the place, but the mayor has destroyed it.

I used to go to the city to see plays and go to Chinatown, Central Park and many other things. Not anymore bro it’s sad what is has become.

I lived there for 15 years before moving to Westport, including 9/11, the Recession, etc.

We went to the city for a Dr. appt in July, we couldn't leave fast enough - it was terrible.

That being said, it will be back to normal in two years tops. I have a client who just bought an 1,100sq ft duplex on Bryant park for $890,000 so my wife and I are seriously considering buying a 1 bedroom while the mortgage rates are so low.

I know nothing about NYC but I have a client that 8 months ago put a $350k deposit (10% of cost) on a condo/apartment and is going to let it go because he doesn't want to buy it because it turned into a chit hole.

My uncle has a appt on Central Park west he is selling it now and moving out. All the people with money are leaving and heading upstate or Long Island. I don’t blame them one bit

Its cyclic. Eventually NYers will get tired of the sh*t and hire the next Guiliani to crack heads and evict all the bums to Pennsylvania like they did last time. When Giuliani did it nice small towns like Redding PA ended up turning into sh*tholes. I wonder where they will get kicked out to next time?

The same thing happened in the 90's to DC when it was the murder capital of the USA; then things quickly turned around and prices that were once $34,000 for a building, are well over a million today.

Thing is the die hard New Yorkers who came together during every hard time we have had are all leaving. And now it’s all mid westerners that are moving here by the bus load are bringing their ideas and attitudes with them. If another 911 would happen it wouldn’t be the same and I feel like New Yorkers that all came together during that time will not come together again.

just show her some of the vids from this guys channel, he never used to talk politics outside of right to repair lawsuits in the tech world but now chit is hitting in the fan in NYC and he cant help but talk about the changes in NYC and de blasio's enablement. Hes a small business owner there that does circuit repairs for laptops and phones. He streams some of his commutes on his ebike and shows all the boarded up businesses, some places it goes on for blocks.



This is the kind of in depth honest view of NYC you wont see in the media.

I been in NYC a few times over the last 8 years, last time maybe 2 years ago and it was super safe due to the police presence. Now it looks like a 3rd world country in some places. Also homeless people all over an empty time square steps which is insane compared to just 8 months ago.

I worked in the city for2 years and it’s busy all the time. Even early morning the streets are full. It truly was the city that never sleeps now it’s the city in a coma.
