The thing is, free speech entails things like false rape accusations, threats, etc. Those of course can have consequences, but free speech in totality isn't really a good thing.
Of course what is happening now is basically suppression of speech online mixed with wrongthink shame. That is the downfall of society as we know it.
So yea, we're kind of fukked right now. Fabian socialism at work choking the necks of all areas of life.
