Something that’s NEVER really talked about

Basically the idea of bulking and cutting. Everyone’s body has a natural set point for how many calories they eat and when they feel satisfied. You cannot simply eat above your maintenance calories forever. And likewise you cannot eat below your maintenance forever.

So in order to force yourself to cut, you’re essentially fighting against your hormones like Leptin. I’ve notice that most people who have 8-10% body fat, have been at that range their entire lives.

I’ve personally been around 12-13% my entire life and I think it’s fine to stay there.

But why do people act like anyone can just cut down to 10% bf and stay there year round?

I’ve never seen any natural get there unless they were already lean in their childhood. Or unless they’re competing/modelling. Some of my mates and myself were skinny in childhood and that meant that gaining was hard and losing was easy. But that doesn’t mean we can just eat a -500 calorie deficit until we’re 8% bf.

Cliffs: if you’re lean you’ll always be lean, if you’re fat, you’ll be fat.

Would explain why I have so much trouble breaking 180 lbs
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

It’s harder but not impossible with more cardio/lifting more often and restricting cals.

You have a point in a way, but it’s still possible to overcome with diet manipulation and exercise. It’s just harder.
