I srsly never had a female friend.

Yeah, it's definitely possible and is mostly in the form of friends girlfriends/wives. If I'm being friendly with a single girl, it's always because there's some strategic purpose.

Ive tried to explain this to many women. If a dude wants to be friends with a woman its because he is eventually going to try and get in her pants, waiting his turn so to speak.

im not sure how to quantify it

i would say lots im "friends" with but i don't keep up on their day to day life

i could contact them and i could turn it sexual if i wanted to

Yup. Having female friends is important for social proofing. If you're at a bar with all dudes, girls are going to have their guard up because they'll know it's just a bunch of guys looking to score. If you go to a bar with a crew that's closer to 50/50 F:M or higher, they'll feel much more comfortable talking to you because they'll know you're not a rapist. Also, female friends will sometimes set you up with their friends or introduce you to other females they're talking to at a bar if they're chill.

I mean define 'friend.' Someone I talk to all the time? No. If I'm talking to a girl frequently, it's gonna be building towards FWB or a relationship. But if you mean friends as people I run into every year or two at a party, am genuinely happy to see, catch up and enjoy hearing they're doing well? All while having no thoughts of "I wanna smash!" bouncing around my head? Of course. There's tons of girls within my social circle. Some of them are girlfriends of a friend or what have you.

But if I've smashed once, it's rare I stay friends unless we keep smashing. Kinda changes the dynamic. Or if a girl I smashed in the past has a boyfriend, I ain't gonna be that ******* lurking around trying to poison their thing.

Through work yea sure. Female friends as long as you’re not straight up orbiting them are better than male friends by far. 90% of young dudes I see IRL are undersexed and desperate as hell. I left my homies behind from my childhood for this reason. No point in hanging out with dudes unless they pull well in this day and age when the gap between high value guys and every other guy is widening. 110% srs

Not even just that. Many of them just didn’t hit the gym consistently enough when younger and are going downhill in general, and it’s too late for them to change now that we’re in our mid 20’s, as they haven’t really cared about self improvement for a long enough time already

I’d say it’s nothing more than a manifestation of men getting left behind and effectively checking out. Welcome to 2020 I guess. Adapt or rot

Yep but I've known them since highschool or earlier.

Admittedly, when I was late teens/early 20s and single I would've smashed if given the chance prob but we were a tight knit group so didn't really hit on any as I didn't wanna disrupt the group dynamic. Eventually I became better w/ girls and couldnt see myself ruining a friendship to hookup with if the opportunity presented itself.

Very little hooking up within our social circle though. Some legit dated (and got married) and the odd makeout but that's it. Prob one of the reasons why we're still all friends today.

I have 1 very close female friend and another 2 I'm close enough with to still hang 1on1 with once in a while. All 3 are married.

Can't envision making a new close female friend now though.
