School started beginning of this month and tomorrow I have a test but I have 0 fuking clue how to do anything srs. I went on Khan Academy to learn on my own and to practice, and while it is a great resource, I cant learn **** for the life of me. This stuff is being fed to me thru a video but I always doze off or check another tab or something.

I'm a complete lost cause and I should go learn a trade and do that for the rest of my life. Its a damn shame cuz im a smart person too.

I used to get higher test scores than 90% of my classmates when I was on amphetamines but this year I decided to do it sober cuz I don't want to rely on drugs my whole life but wow I literally cant just sit still and force myself to learn.

I'm gonna get my test tomorrow and I'm just gonna stare at it and doodle on it like some ****ing retard while everyone else will ace it. I might not even show up to be honest cuz what's the point.

4 classes is a lot. Contact your teacher and see if he can give you any resources to catch up.

What helped me was doing as many practice problems as possible and then beside each practice problem highlighting relevant concepts/formulas/theories etc

I would also try and write things out that were tricky to understand in my own words - like even with math chit, instead of memorizing the formulas I’d literally write in my own words what the formula was attempting to do - did this a lot with like probability and chit - I remember I didn’t understand this fuking thing called bayes theorem so I made my own chart and wrote an entire paragraph on how it worked - so anytime I had a problem on bayes theorem I didn’t even need the formula because I intuitively understood how it worked

Again I’m virtually retarded and was able to do pretty good by using this method

I started studying online recently and I just force myself to close ALL tabs until after im done my work.
I put aside a few hours that I only focus on that. Its actually fun to me cuz I previously was sht at school and dropped out but now I take it as a personal challenge to do well.
I cant let the rest of these normies get better grades than me

Still working full time night shift. But also went back to school full time. Almost everything’s online.

OSAP gave me 5700 grant, 100 loan. Tuition, fees, books, etc amount to 5000.

You have to recreate the school setting at your home. What I mean by this is when you go to school you sit at a desk with a pen and paper and nothing else. Do the same thing in your home. Sit in a desk at your house and clear it of anything except your laptop and a pen and paper for notes. Follow a schedule the same way you would in person classes. Don't go on the misc, YouTube (unless it's for studying), or any other website except the school ones and tutoring ones.

This is what I have done and it's been good so far.

Plenty of people smarter than you in the world (10's of thousands, and probably y millions) but being smart without self discipline means nothing, as you are finding out. That's something you learn in college along with other things. You can either choose to learn this lesson or go **** off.

Not many people care either way.

But my advice is to either **** or get off the pot - learn how to learn or go do the trades. Whatever you do just don't suck at it.

Pretty much.
30 and never been to college cuz I never knew what to take.
been doing overnights full time forever as well.
figure I can use all this downtime every night to study online. cant go wrong.
Plus, I never took out a loan so I have that money there to pay for it.
Haven't really looked into that part yet but I heard they lowered how much you can get recently.

Yeah that’s a great method, when I learn stuff my mind automatically forms patterns and rhymes and other **** that helps me understand. Sounds weird but my mind is weird so it works for me.

Practice problems are a big help for sure. I can’t learn from reading in a textbook how to do something, you have to physically show me how to solve a problem, then you have to let me solve a couple problems by myself, that’s how I learn, practice problems are clutch for learning.

Also I think your a smart dude, I hope one day I can be in the same field of work you do since I wanna go in finance and make bank (if I make it). Also as a younger dude on this site I kinda look up to u lol. Like you have your own condo in downtown Toronto and seem to have fun all the time, but fuk I can tell these drugs I take are ****ing up my mental and holding me back. Gotta stop those.

I’m also taking advanced high school level trigonometry which is probably easy to you lol but the last math class I took was 3 years ago then I got expelled for doing hood rat **** with my friends and then I served fiends for a while if u get what I’m saying. So I’m a bit rusty, but I’m trying to learn in school now.

doug ford made it less. during wynne's last year i was completely free. when ford came into power, i was given 70% grant, 30% loan.

you should check and see. if you're 30, been out of HS for over 6 years, live alone, you will likely get most, if not all, of your tuition paid in grants. unless you make good money.


there's also a program that PAYS you 28 grand per year when you go back to school. but there's a list of 10-12 requirement and you have to check off a least 5 or something. married, dependents, broke, laid off, etc.
the most important condition is that you need to be struggling to find stable work in your current field and the field that you're studying should be booming. my friend got it because he was a long haul trucker and wanted to study civil engineering. was also married.

The only way is to find real life applications to what you're learning, otherwise you'll sit there thinking "why the fuk am I here listening to this". It's admittedly a coping tactic but it works.

I'm in luck since my field of study interests me and is related to my hobbies (lifting & physiology). Right now learning biology and chemistry.
