Mine are alive, but I don't think you do. Nothing will ever measure up to childhood, and no love will ever compare.
So little time left and my parents are stupidly unhealthy. fuk
If I could just bang even a troll and then present her to them they would be so happy but I am so disappointing

Good luck OP. Both of my parents are still around, but I've been thinking a lot more lately about how much time they have left. Definitely hurts to think of life without them, or being in my hometown without them.

you don't really, you just develop strategies to deal with it. quite honestly, it's not healthy to suppress and crying is a good outlet no matter how many tough guys tell you not to. i lost my dad suddenly and a close friend to suicide, i choke up relatively often when i hear songs or something that remind me of them, even more than 10 years later. it's human. we're cursed with the intelligence to think about death rather than just accepting it
at least for me, the sadness and bitterness about them no longer being around slowly turned into an impetus for me to do things that would make them proud of me. there's no reward there any more obviously, but i internalize the reward. i know it would make them happy, that's good enough for me.
i'm not gonna sit here and preach but i can tell you from first hand experience, the drinking does nothing but make those emotions worse and put off the amount of time it takes for you to develop those coping strategies. it took me a lot of years to realize it but one day i just stopped and i think i'm better for it. i keep the stack of crown royal bags around to remind me how damaging it was.
think about seeing a professional. they're gonna tell you a lot of corny bullchit but sometimes it's nice to hear someone knowledgeable tell you that the things that you're feeling, are normal. you might pick something up from it and there's no shame in it

Most people canโt get over the question of their own death. The nearer eventuality for us is the death of our parents.
Thereโs no way to get over it, because the death of your parents is a perpetual reminder of your own death. Youโre gonna die and never exist again for eternity and so did all of your ancestors.
We will all be dead for eternity.

My dad died a couple years ago. Didnโt have the best relationship but still think about it from time to time. Couldnโt imagine losing my mom but one day I will or she will lose me. To me I feel like everything that happens is meant to happen. The good the bad everything. Hold on to the memories and cherish them for life. They love you op

Sorry for your loss man. I lost my father when I was 13 (29 now) to cancer and I can honestly say that there hasnโt been a day the past 15 years that I havenโt thought about him. Sometimes itโs just for a second, sometimes itโs a while. Truth is, you never truly get over losing your parent(s) before their time. You just learn to live with it. Know that they would want you to live your life.
Itโs tough, but you will find happiness again. You just have to find something, or someone worth living for.
Most importantly, donโt make the mistake of trying to bottle up your feelings trying to be โalphaโ. Talk to someone, whether it be a therapist or close friends. Trust me, it feel good to talk about it and it helps more than you can imagine.
Again, sorry for your loss and best of luck bro. Life can really suck sometimes

If not a troll..try to remember all the good in them and the times you shared. Take a deep dive into a beneficial hobby or something you love spending time doing rather than dwelling or doing overtime at work (if you hate it there.)

I've lost some close family in recent years. Honestly the world just changes and it doesn't go back. Parents exist as a lot of different things to us as children, and as adults. They separate us from death (or rather, they tend to be our first impactful experience), they support us when we fail (because who else really cares about your successes or failures?), and they also chain us to our youth (often a very negative way, or else it drives us far away). The passing of our parents is certainly devastating, but it is also freeing. You can no longer show them what shiny piece of garbage you've recently found, and you can no longer learn from them. There's always regret. Unless you're already a perfect human being who understands what it means to live fully and in the moment and all that trash. You might not be ready yet OP, but after you've come to terms with it, you can rise up and become a free man. Have an impact on the world in the ways your parents and grandparents taught you, whatever those things were that made them so special.

Sorry for your loss.
I dont think you ever get over it. You just live by the good example they set for you to make them proud.

You don't get over it, and you shouldn't want to. Let it remind you to be a good person and live the best life they would have wanted you to live.

Sorry broski. Its not easy for anybody, and for some its harder than for others.
It helped me to understand its natural for your parents to pass and for you to feel pain as a result.
