I tend to put on sets - am listening to this right now:
I think how music fades into the background greatly depends on your personality. This stuff, I like because I listen to it during cardio workouts too...and it is comforting to me.

This feels more like a 90s underground rave/techno mix, but I had a buddy who is a sound engineer and DJ who showed this to me about 7 years ago. Listen to it all the time in the gym.
