Finally lifting consistently again, free reps inside

That awkward first week with painful doms seems to be over.
Now high on caffeine pills i got a ton of energy, will be lifting 6x a week again and aim for a new prime by next summer.
Free reps boyos, feels good to be back.

can confirm. same story here, but legs doms are still making themselves known.
top it off though, gym is more empty now in the mornings than it was beforehand. So nice to basically have an entire commercial gym to myself

Rep someone else, OP, but wanted to say: great job getting over the DOMS.

My first lower body day after almost 5 months resulted in about 5 days of DOMS...and I tried CBD cream, magnesium rubs, the lot, lol.

Just a few weeks later and I'm back to normal.

Going ham on calves was definitely a mistake i made. Was painful to walk for days. Now i'll just slowly build it up but for upper body i can go to failure again without real pain the next day.

Fortunately no masks required here. Just gotta wipe the benches with disinfect after using it, but it seems completely useless because no one wipes the dumbbells or plates that everyone touches with their hands.

Never accept defeat.....goes to "failure", pick one, lol

face coverings required here and you get your own personal spray bottle thing to wipe down when your down. most here usually did anyways, at least when i'm there in the morning crew. but nobody wiping barbells or dumb bells or plates or w/e.

somewhat related: I am disgust when i see blood on the barbell. Like come on dude, wipe that chit off. And bc of that, i do wipe barbells before using them

That's a great news, m'friend!

Just one thing, be careful of injuries. Only one might be enough to cost you a year or more.

Speaking for myself, it always happened especially when I was on a roll or I felt like the wind was at my back.

We have an expression, an famous old samurai saying,

“Tighten your helmet strings in the hour of victory.”

I believe that you have a similar expression in English.

“Don’t let your guard down even after a victory.”

"Don't halloo till you are out of the woods."

*******************

Other than that I'm really glad that finally you folks in US start to enjoy the normal Gym-Life like that of pre-COVID.

Be safe, grow strong and big my friend!!
