If you are 25-35 years of age right now

Your greatest accomplishment in life will be obtaining your college degree/ finishing HS.

How does it feel knowing the huge gap between what you think about yourself vs reality?

Hopefully you will learn how to change rather than hating + coping.

That is astonishingly inaccurate for the vast majority of people.

Strong projection.

But who was owning your own business and being a real estate investor?
Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;

Which statistics show majority of the population cannot do successfully.

So yes, it IS an accomplishment. You think it's not? Especially within that age range? Just lol.

I mean really what can you do as a big accomplishment? Sports is out of the question.

Maybe politics? Becoming wealthy if you grind hard?

Well....

-College degree
-Successful completion of ROTC and subsequent commissioning as an Officer
-Acceptance to and successful completion of the worlds single most stressful and complex rotary wing flight training program
-2 Honorable DD-214s
-Combat tours to both Iraq and Afghanistan (not really an achievement as much as life experience, I’ll count it. I understand if you don’t want to)
-55K annual pension, mostly tax free, for the rest of my life

I’m 35.

I feel pretty good about my life decisions and achievements so far.

I never thought about that. Valid point. I will need to ask DFAS that. I was super short sighted in that aspect.

For now, that covers all of my monthly expenses. Which includes two car payments, a motorcycle payment, and an RV payment. Those won’t be monthly expenses for too long.

I guess I just always planned on having that supplement other work related income. (All of which goes to savings/paying off some of that debt/etc since the pension covers my bills).

How'd you get a $54k pension at 35? Mirin seal of approval here, anything to escape the rat race.

Quite honestly anybody who doesn't have to grind and can do whatever they want when they want has made it. That's a great accomplishment if you ask me

Hmm but I think after 25 or at least 27/29 you can kiss a Degree goodbye - it's a bit old to be picking up new Computer skills (as they're always changing) and other Digital Skills though tbh
