Set bear trap last night. Let's play reps or negs
Guy called me in a panic yesterday. Got to his cottage a few days ago and it had been ransacked.
A bear had tried to get in the door, but couldn't, so it tore the siding off and went through the wall. $5000 in damage. It ate everything edible in his house. Left teeth marks when it opened the fridge door.
He plywooded the hole shut, and cleaned everything up. Was awoken middle of the night. Cottage was shaking as bear tore the plywood off the wall ...it was well nailed. He chased it out swinging a 2x4. Next night, same thing. Bear was in the kitchen again after removing more plywood. At this point, the guy was getting rather annoyed and called me.
So I set a foot snare last night. Would be nice if the bear is waiting for me this morning...
Measilies till I am out if I get the bear inside a week. Negs if I don't.

I'll play. It clearly went back for more but the guy chased it off with a 2x4 so idk if it's going to try again.

Usually it doesn't catch raccoons, just flings them fifteen or so yards because they get their whole bodies in the trap as opposed to a bear that just sticks his arm in.. Guess it caught this one.

OP, do you need a license to trap bears up there? How do you dispatch the bear? What if you catch a cub or something? I'm assuming you get to keep the bear once you trap and kill it.

OP, what do you do with the bear once you catch it in trap? Do you kill it?
