Read about reddit founder Aaron Schwartz today

This was so wrong..

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aaron_Swartz

Sorry misspelled his name its Aaron Swartz.

“In 2011, Swartz was arrested by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) police on state breaking-and-entering charges, after connecting a computer to the MIT network in an unmarked and unlocked closet, and setting it to download academic journal articles systematically from JSTOR using a guest user account issued to him by MIT.[13][14] Federal prosecutors later charged him with two counts of wire fraud and eleven violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act,[15] carrying a cumulative maximum penalty of $1 million in fines, 35 years in prison, asset forfeiture, restitution, and supervised release.[16]

Swartz declined a plea bargain under which he would have served six months in federal prison.[17] Two days after the prosecution rejected a counter-offer by Swartz, he was found dead in his Brooklyn apartment, where he had hanged himself.[18][19]”

I mean should someone really have to plead guilty to a felony and spend 6 months in a federal prison for downloading educational files off the university server that they were given login access to? Keep in mind this kid went to Standford and cofounded reddit. This was someone who was going to potentially be a bezos or zuckerberg type in our society.

So then you're saying this is a plus for the world? Because the world would be a lot better without what they brought into it.

He didn't kill himself.

Considering where reddit ended up, its a pretty sure bet someone made way for plants.
