8 weeks after trapping a nerve, I finally am at about 90% strength

reps all around

pinned my wrist back 8 weeks ago while doing squats, when I reracked the bar a felt a sharp pain shoot up my wrist through my whole arm

shrugged it off and kept working out, went to curl the 40s like i'd normally do with ease.. couldnt even make them budge.. tried the 30s.. still the same.. dropped down to 20s and still couldnt move them

thought my arms were just tired out and figured i'd be good by next morning.

woke up to a half paralyzed right arm and started to worry

3 weeks in and it was still just as paralyzed as the day after, still couldnt even curl a 20lb dumbbell

after about 5 weeks I could finally start curling a 20 -- 6 weeks I could get a few comfortable reps, 7 weeks I was able to move the 30

----------------

back to throwing up big weights again now but still feel a bit of limited mobility, each day it seems to be progressing more now

read it can take about 12 weeks to repair fully but i'm feeling like this time next week I should be back to 100%

never had an injury like this before, for the first 4 weeks I was worried it was permanent and was genuinely a bit scared

-------------
at it's worst I could barely lift my arm over my head, when i tried raising my arms to the side I had to torque my whole body to get my right arm up

Glad it's on the mend. As I get older, injuries scare the hell out of me because IDK if I'll recover. Still lifting moderately heavy though. Other than crackling joints, I'm hanging in there. Your story is scary cause you were just re-wracking!

this was the first injury that truly scared me and had me rethinking my age and how I train

no I didn't, I just went and did a bunch of research and hoped for the best. I've been through a lot of serious injuries that i've always come back stronger from but this was the closest I ever came to going to a Dr.

**** brah. Feels. I pinched a nerve bad in my lat/shoulder area a few years back. Ended up tearing it in a fist fight with someone eventually but it was pinched for almost 2 years.

Too much pulling and lifting up heavy material when I did scaffolding.

Been going through a similar thing with lower back issues. It's better to take 6 months to get back to previous strength levels than try to rush it and injure yourself again. I've been there

I get depressed when i'm out of the gym for more than a week, I've kept it light and slowly felt out what my body was capable of but i'm definitely a bit nervous about it and more cautious

Mine wasn’t bad like yours. I’d just feel sharp Painful pinches every now and then And inflammation. I believe it was my superspinatus tendon ? Not sure if I spelled that right.

After I actually tore it I couldn’t move my arm all the way up for months. It was depressing as ****. My arm would pull on my back causing me to lean back to compensate for the lost strength.

mine had no pain after the initial injury whatsoever which made it even more scary

Good luck getting back to 100% brah. I honestly can't remember the last time I didn't have some kind of nagging issue bothering me. Going on vacation in a couple weeks then after that I plan to take a break from the barbell and get my conditioning/work capacity up for a while.

After the end of a chest workout, I tried to PR when I was new into lifting without a spotter with 32kg dumbells and after the fourth rep, it came crashing so I tilted my wrist to throw the weight off, fuked my wrist abit..

Then a t work im in a scuffle eith a bloke on the ground, he then gets tackled after we both get up and he lands directly on my wrist (thr same one that I damaged before) so then I have his bodyweight and the other security guard bodyweight in my wrist

Still never fully healed but I understand the feeling mate, glad your healing..

1. how much were you squatting

2. what do you think the reason for the injury was, tilting your wrist too much when re-racking the bar?

was only squatting two plates, but the whole time i was squatting i didnt realize how far back my wrist was pinned, I figured i'd just adjust it after that set when I got half way through and started to notice the pain building up.

it was how far back my wrist was pinned that must have stretched the nerve out or something. didn't realize how bad it was until i reracked it

That's a fuked up injury got dayum bruh, glad ur better

Looks like you're supporting the weight on squats wrong, using your hands instead of your back. You ever see those videos of people back squatting with no hand support and their arms are down? You gotta balance the weight on your back like that so its your back supporting the weight not ur arms/hands/wrists/etc
