So Farm Boy just opened in downtown Toronto (similar to whole foods). this cute indian girl was at the front giving away cookies and hand sanitizer etc. shes also managing the long line for social distancing. Each person just goes up to her with their face buried in their phone, barely making eye contact, and says 'ill take a cookie' or 'I can go in now?'. Its finally my turn to be next to go in. She says 'welcome to Farm Boy' and I reply 'You too' as a joke and smile at her through my mask. I made her giggle then she like flicked her hair back.

I shoot the sh!t with people when I can. Crack jokes when buying things at the register, crack jokes with other people waiting in line, etc. It's fun. People are bored at their jobs, if you can come in and through nothing other than being yourself, make them enjoy the 5 minutes you're in the store, why not?

its a great feeling. world has gotten so much colder it seems since social media blew up, but 2020 took that up a notch. sad, really.
