There is a clear lack of responsibility that has been passed on via poor genetics and poor parenting. If half the people in this world had a grain of responsibility, all the housing, job, wealth gap, health, societal and environmental issues would lessen considerably. Let this statement sink in if you are intelligent enough.

In "The Coddling of the American Mind" they lay the blame on the lack of UNSUPERVISED play in young kids.

Now virtually all play takes place with an adult nearby, or even actively controlling the play.

In unsupervised play you must learn to get along with others and resolve issues. In supervised play you learn to report others to an authority figure and to turn to someone else for help when you are upset.

After reading that I make a point of rejecting my kids and their friends when they come tattling to me (assuming it's minor) - " you don't need an adult for this. Find a way to play together."

For some of the kids it seems like the first time they've ever heard that.
