No homo. How to make guy friends in new town?

Been living in Oregon for a year now, and this quarantine makes it real hard to meet anyone. Of course, making guy friends is extra hard because we're all no homo.

How the fuk do I make guy friends? I've started pickup soccer games and chatted with a few guys there a little. Should I take up crossfit? One guy I made friends with at the gym is super dull, so I don't really like hanging out with him much. Maybe make more gym friends once I start going back?

yeah, I work in IT. Next closest guy in age is kinda nerdy and just had a kid, so he's definitely out.

Join clubs, groups, etc. like to hike or bike ride, look for a group or club. Want to learn Jiu jitsu, join a gym (Jiu jitsu is the goat for making friends).

yeah, I'm thinking about group-based activities. Everywhere else I've moved I've made friends by playing soccer, but soccer isn't as big here. Didn't think that through very well lol.

Got into a GOAT grad school here, so far it’s been pretty great actually. I speak German because I was raised German. Most likely will be here for 2-3 years. Still taking care of small things got a bank account and gym membership this week, still need to get a new SIM card and a few other things

Weather is great and the Covid situation (at least in this small city ~300000) is chill af

Mirin. I’m gonna enroll in German courses at a local community college out here, the wife used to be fluent but “use it or lose it” sort of a thing. We just have to figure out employment. Repped and hope you share stories of your experience
