Use distilled water unless you want a brain eating amoeba called naegleria fowleri

was advised to use a neti pot when I had a sinus infection and just made it worse if anything. I have a deviated septum and tried using it again after my infection cleared up and just found it kept my nose feeling more dry on average throughout the day.

Please don't use regular water for your net pot. Keep it very clean after each use. Many cases of brain eating bacteria have been associated with it. I stopped using mine after a decade because it's not worth the headaches.
Also if you have ear infections or hearing problems, don't use it

They work well temporarily but don't remove whatever caused you to get stuffed up.
You boil the water before using it and add saline solution before just dumping it in your nose, the instructions are pretty clear so it's hard to fuk up.

Used em pretty often on the fire dept. All kinds of fun stuff would come out after fires.

I've used the nasal saline solution before. Kinda helps with congestion. Easier and cleaner than using a neti pot, imo.
