Anyway, back to seasonings.

So garlic and onjuns, on everything but not on a first date.

Salt and pepper at a minimum. I guess to go deeper into seasonings, you would probably have to be discussing a specific dish. I am a fan of cumin.

A lot of people around here put Tony’s on everything.

I've been using a pretty awesome Chipotle Marinade for my chicken protienz:

1/2 tsp adobo
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt (I use potassium chloride for BP, but can't tell the difference)
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. lime juice
2 tbs. olive oil

24 hours in the fridge - boom delicious.

He was right though. Schools aren't open to the public... neither you, nor I nor the vast majority of the public can attend. Only very specific groups of underage people living in a specific place. Thats not considered open to the public. Open to the public means I could go there at noon and check up on the kids and see how they are doing. But that would be illegal. SO yeah, its not open to the public.

its also not decided by the public. I don't remember ever seeing an election for who the principal will be or deciding what they teach in schools. I would not authorize the stuff they teach in government schools.

Thank you. I did delete the thread. I'm not gonna get hot over a topic because some left wing academia nutjob is taking it personal. The point of the thread was that it ought to be coined Government School, not Public School. For the exact reasons you listed.

Good call with the salt substitute. Will try

good lord that is some terrible logic. I guess the "Public Works Department" should be renamed because some random can't drive a snow plow whenever they feel like it. And principals aren't elected - their boss, the school board is. but since I'm sure you don't vote, you wouldn't know that.

This is the problem with idiot miscer's who try and LARP as some based, black pill, free thinker. they just end up looking dumb and have to call whomever points out their ignorance a "liberal cuck" because their statements make no sense.

I put Lawry's on all my beef. Burger's and steaks it makes the most difference on. People always rave about my burgers but they never believe me when I tell them. All you have to do is put some Lawry's and worchestershire sauce on there and don't overcook them. Easy peasy

The biggest mistake he made was conflating a pure democracy with the notion of “public.”

This is a representative republic. For example, we elect a school board director or we elect people who appoint a school board director.

So to say that we have “no say” is like saying we have no say when we vote for the President of the United States.

And his other point about no public funding is just ridiculous. Property taxes pay for school districts. It doesn’t get any more public than that.

And besides all that, his entire point was that it should be called government school instead of public school. It was just a game of semantics.

I never try to dismiss a “semantics” argument right away.

We think in words, and our thoughts drive our emotions, behavior, and the consequences of our emotions and behavior. So words are important.

For all intensive purposes, government and public are interchangeable. Their opposite being private.

We as a public can go to school board meetings. We can voice our concerns. We can demand consequences for perceived inappropriate behavior. Can I go three districts over and address my concerns, no but that would be a waste of my own personal resources so why would I?

No, a 35 year old man cannot participate in second grade and be developed and evaluated.

But a 35 year old man with an interest in a specific district (a child enrolled in that school) absolutely can participate in it to a degree.

I don’t disagree that calling it a “government” school is wrong. I do disagree that that is somehow different than calling it “public” school. They are the same thing.

His seasoning was.....

Ah hem....

His reasoning was objectively wrong in many ways. The overarching idea, not so much. Anything the government controls is a public asset.

There is no reason to call something one or the other. In the context of this discussion, they are the same.

People generally understand the word public to mean government when talking about collective social goods.

It is a pointless argument but he thinks he is super smart for having that perspective.

Edit: Got dangum. I was doing so good.

I saw this in the store one day and got a bottle.

My goto got sauce is Franks. I was in the seasoning dimension of the store and saw a powdered version of franks. Right next to it was the buffalo ranch. I got both to try them. I use it for sure, but still prefer the liquid Franks.

Is this a thread about HAs being unable to season their meat?
All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

Dozens of crushed garlic cloves, salt and pepper, maybe smoked paprika or cumin makes the most delicious prime rib. And big fan of cumin, thyme, all spice.

Now for my on-topic post:

I’ve used TC for chicken and even pork, and for beef/steaks in the past I’ve used various spices and sauces.

But in recent years, I stick 99% of the time to salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder for my seasoning. I’ll use fresh garlic, onion, and other herbs sometimes too of course, but those four are the base.
