Reserved Parking is Bullsh!t

This is getting out of control. This week I've seen those dumb ass signs next to the handicap spots for:

- Expectant Mothers
- Veterans
- Senior Citizens
- Electric Cars
- People with Children

When did having a child with you become a disability? Fuk off.

It probably means really young children. Ie babies, or toddlers. Of course there will be people who take advantage, but that's it's intended use.

What blows my mind is handicap parking at the gym.

Electric cars makes sense. I assume those spots have access to electricity to plug in.

The veterans one is not super common. The only place I have seen it is at Lowe’s.

Harris Teeter's have them down here.

I understand the electric car parking if there is a charging port, but it was just "green vehicle". Which I assumed meant electric, not the actual color green.

Not always. sometimes they are just virtue signaling by rewarding electric car drivers with prime spots for "helping" the environment.

I came in expecting to disagree with you because I disagree with just about everything you post....but you are right about this.

These parking spaces have gone far beyond the people that actually need assistance and are tap dancing on virtue signaling at this point.

Brb gonna buy a neon green 1984 Chevy Suburban 4×4 with a cammed 454, 6" lift and 37's, and park it in every "green vehicle" parking spot I can find to troll and trigger *******s.

They have those on base. It is just incentivizing going “green”. Technically, a small Honda that gets 30 mpg could park there. There isn’t a strong definition as far as I know.

Of course, we all know hybrid or fully electric cars do just as much, if not more damage to the environment. I feel like this is common knowledge so I don’t know why anyone would incentivize that.

OP has a problem with business owners doing what is within their power to show appreciation. This is the equivalent of 3 year olds getting jealous when their classmate gets an attaboy and not them.

More irony from OP.
OP doesn't think Grandpa needs to be any closer after 60 years in construction, but he's salty he has to walk three spaces farther.
Is it too far or not, OP?
- Electric Cars
Only one I agree with.
Save for the fact it's probably done for cost efficiency of running power.
- People with Children
OP doesn't empathize with parents juggling kids and groceries in a busy parking lot, but asks us to empathize with him having to walk another 50 feet.
When did having a child with you become a disability? Fuk off.
When did critical thinking and empathy become a specialized skill? Fuk off with this whiney bullsh!t. No body cares how far you have to walk. The irony is mind-boggling.

When they first came out with handicapped parking spots, they were usually at the BACK of the parking lot because they had additional space around them for people to manage wheelchairs. Now they're right at the front and everybody and their dog has a hang tag that they probably bought off Ebay.

I'm a vet and I parked in reserved parking for vets at texas roadhouse once and I felt turrible. Just turrible. It's like saying, "hey, fuk off I am a higher priority than you" even though the whole point of fighting for the country is equality through freedom lmao.

Ever since then I just drop my wife's boyfriend out at the front so he can save our spot in line and go park with the kids.

that's where I'll refer to what badbl00d said, which is pretty much where I stand: the spaces have practical application, they are just abused.

i've spent my fair share of time watching said fat fuks get out of their cars with no other physical ailment and walk unassisted into the store. It burns me too, but I still get that without that spot, grandma with her walker would take an entire moon phase to get to the door.

grandma with a walker will have a handicap tag. nobody is saying handicap spaces are a bad thing.
