LMAO @ thinking cold linkedin messages work

lmao @ people who think these work. I get these on a weekly basis. Usually from bottom tier feeders from 2nd rate places

100% it gets shared among coworkers/friends for a quick laugh if it's cringy and then deleted

dude below was nice about it. Still deleted though

Doesn't hurt to try OP. It's most likely a copied and pasted message they mass send.

I've been in their shoes and so I always respond now. Happy to talk about my company but will only put in a referral for people who I think would be a good fit. Our firm hires mainly from employee referrals.

Nothing worse than people treating LinkedIn like it's Tinder tho.

I always respond and I'm glad to help out juniors. It's crazy to think people laugh at this? This is how the business world works lol -- you lean in.

I find that they always overstep their boundaries. Like after a quick 30 min chat, they expect me to put in a good word for them and refer them? Like dude I barely know you

Well in that case ignoring them is warranted cause theyre clearly line stepping. But if theyre nice enough and you got time and theyre asking you to share your experience whats so cringy/bad about that?

Odd post.

Seriously though, why do people you've never met think you'd ever give them a reference?

I've answered questions from college students looking for the best way to get a job but would never, ever step up for someone I haven't personally worked with and respect.

Actually that's a lie, one time I got a friend of a friend an interview, and of course he fukked up and half assed their test which made me look like an *******.

Haha I get a few thousand bucks for a sucessful referral, so I'm not as picky. As long as that person is not a complete idiot, sure, I'll send a referral. We also have case interviews so they have to jump through several hoops before getting hired anyway.

I think you hold yourself in way too importance. These people send out mass mails and see what sticks. Nobodies looking for you specifically i assure you.
