Running shoe reccomendations? reps
Old shoes are beat. Mostly run on pavement/sidewalk. Bonus points if there comfortable for the gym + walking

Altra is the correct answer. Escalante is the GOAT running shoe.
“The Misc. is a stone-faced Uncle Sam with Popeye’s forearms and a cocked pistol in each hand. It’s a screeching bald eagle with a foreign Bad Thing in its talons. It’s everything that defines America’s bro culture, magnified and weaponized. But it’s deeper than that.“

Have a gait analysis done if you do a lot of running.
Anyone’s advice is irrelevant if they (or you) don’t know your feet

I prefer Saucony Kinvaras. Fairly light with a low drop and cushion was good enough to get me through a marathon. With that said, majority of my running group are absolutely in love with Brooks and Hokas.

I started wearing minimalist shoes five years ago.
Takes a few months to get used to it but it's worth trying
because my knees stopped hurting ever since.
And I jog avg. 2,000km (1,242 mi) a year.

OP before you buy any shoes, find out how the arch in your foot is.
I have ZERO arch, full on phucking duck feet. I made the mistake of buying running shoes once that were for people with a high arch, and I'm not kidding that they hurt my feet more when I ran my next 5K than when I ran that same 5K with Converse All Stars.
Got some Brooks afterwards which were specifically for flat feet, and those are a dream for me.

I would probably go with brooks.
My work gets us a pair of brooks every year. Very comfortable to just walk in. Wear them to the gym all the time too. Running in them feels very very comfortable although I haven't run long distance in them.
Just don't wear them to squat or deadlift.
