We'll see, my guess is things will have to get worse before they get better.

I know I’m old because I don’t know any new music and mostly listen to 80s/90s music.

We’re even about to have our very own Great Depression of the 20’s!

What made the 90's so special is how it was the last hurrah of the analog era, back before social media and smartphones were a thing. Back when people were more connected to the people around them and not so self-absorbed and caught up in the bullchit happening far away from them with people they have never met before. It was also pre-911 so the world simply felt safer and far less hostile, things were just more simple back then.

Nope, we're probably fukt at this rate. The decline of the US is something most of us saw as utterly impossible. Will be fascinating to witness if it happens in my lifetime.

Music use to be about bands/groups

Until superstar culture came on the scene and single performers started making hundreds of millions

It all changed with Michael Jordan in the 90s

I remember when the only game I would play on a cell phone was Snake and we pretty much only placed calls on them, they could barely text and it was really awkward and slow to type chit out. Seemed like a better time because nobody was busy phucking around with their phone back then, you just used it when you had to talk to someone. People also enjoyed the moment more because they weren't trying to record everything all the time.

To us and the 90s were goat but i talked to oldheads and they say the 70s were goat to them...but these are guys in their late 40s-50s i think it might be a nostalgic type thing for them

Personally i think 90s was the goat because of the cuff of technology...when we reaped the benefits before it taking over

In my classes a few Gen Z'ers expressed envy that I'm a 90's kid. Thought that was interesting.

Guess that means we're vindicated when we say the 90's were an objectively better time to grow up.

Yeah but the live music scene was GOAT and getting around was really simple back then. From what I have heard boomers say about being a young adult back then it had a lot going for it, and women were really loose back then as well. It was before the aids scare ruined everything sex related.

It hit us like an atomic bomb because we had 0 preparation for it. We are just starting to understand the effects on society and our brain chemistry. Think of like our grandparents and smoking. They had no clue it was going to eventually kill half of them when they started. It took society 50+ years to adapt to the threat and now only tradies, white trash, and asians smoke.
