Watching ‘Clerks’ and seeing the Cigarette prices in the background

First- top ten favorite movie
Second- feels. I’m fuming ancient mang. $1.95 a pack. It doesn’t seem like real life. Are they even that cheap in China these days?

Try not to suck any dik on the way to the parking lot.

i remember my mom used to get a carton of marbrols for my dad at walmart for $25, the whole carton.

then he had a heart attack and doesnt smoke anymore, i dont pay that much attention to the prices but know that will only get you a few packs these days.

I'm surprised that was allowed in the 1990s.
yeah smoking in malls and in offices, seems crazy. I remember restraunts always having a smoking section. i also remember people freaking out when they started to ban smoking in bars.

Watching the early 80s movie wargams and it shows them looking at seats for flights and say "smoking or non smoking" lol smoking on an airplane seems completely foreign

They used to not be an issue with their prices. For years they stayed pretty much the same.

What happened is a bunch of people started suing them for cancer and lying about the dangers and that sort of stuff.

They made a deal with the govt that they would have to put safety labels and all that on them plus fund education against smoking and things like that.

Almost right away the prices doubled or tripled and never went back down, Just stayed crazy high.

Of course a lot of people quit smoking but it didnt really matter as the new pricing meant fewer people needed to smoke to keep the companies rolling in money.
