Cringe at shows/movies that are set in a non-english setting but speak english anyway

chit like chernobyl or enemy at the gates would be perfectly good cinematic gems, if not for the fact of the entire fukkin immersion being ripped out upon watching because some scouse or scottish fukk is speaking in northern uk dialect larping as a hardened soviet comrade. I'm no longer invested in some gritty USSR theatrical at this stage, I'm in dystopian uk or some chit

Pandering to western audiences because people are too lazy to read ****in subtitles should be a cinematic sell out crime

Boy in the striped pajamas. People raved about that movie when it came out. I’m like “didn’t know the English killed all the Jews”

Ruined Chernobyl for me. Also, the made up woman character to point out how stupid the men were

Don’t really remember Enemy at the Gates. Just Rachel Weisz looking hot af

Yeh, dont even care who the actors are, british, american, as long as they uphold the authenticity of the era in which they're acting. ie by not speaking english in a setting where english is a second language at best
