At what point do you ditch loser friends without being judgemental?

Question

I have a few loser friends, but i feel bad for calling them a "loser" as i sound judgemental and i'm not perfect myself.

But these dudes i've hung with over the years
- don't get laid
- never had girlfriends
- unemployed
- ones an alcaholic the other has bad mental issues
- extremely anti social (0 to no other friends)

As i've gotten older and "levelled up" i've started hanging out with other people (people from work, other friends) and i find myself not wanting to hang out with thes dudes.

But at the same time i feel bad for being condescending and being judgemental and i've known them for a long time, but i'd legit rather do my own thing, or spend time with others than hang out with them. They message me asking me if i want to hang out all the time but honestly, i don't .

Don’t feel bad, ditch the losers. If they have no drive or ambition or social abilities then they are a hindrance in every way.

I burned so many bridges in my life and let me tell you. It's not worth it. Even loser friends have value. Though this doesn't apply to me, they can become someone and they'll remember you as that guy who was too good for them.

I was gonna say there will always be the “loser(s)” in every group but god damn I wasn’t expecting it to be that bad. My “loser” friend still gets laid, has a job and is a funny/social dude.

Your loser friends sound like they have no value. If you grew up with them and are super tight I wouldn’t ditch them. Maybe encourage them to clean up their act.
Horny.

Don’t just tell them they’re losers and shut them away. I never burn bridges, not worth it

Try and help them improve. Don’t be imposing, but be a source of inspiration. They should see you improving your life and it should motivate them to do something with there’s. You should always try and make new connections as well with people on and a little above your level.

If they don’t try, you guys will naturally drift apart.

Everyone is saying ditch them, but good friends (read: loyal) are impossible to come by once you hit 30.

I wish I had stayed connected to some of the losers I ditched over the years. These days, I'm trying to make friends with plastic ken dolls who I know will never be more than acquaintances.

Cutting someone out because they don't measure up to your idea of social status is shallow and retarded as fuk.

I mean, if they're drinking or crazy to the point where they're non-functional, there's no point in dealing with that ****, but if they can operate at a high enough level to eat pizza and play Call of Duty with you? That's absolutely fine.

Judgement solves their problems.

They suck because they're weak.

Strong leadership would turn them around, if anything can.

I agree with this. The OP didn't really list anything that seemed particularly detrimental to you. If you want to go out and be more of a social butterfly, maybe it's a good idea to also get some additional friends, but I'd only consider ditching them if the other things listed were regularly negatively affecting you (alcoholic/mental issues are starting chit, unemployed guys trying to make you slack, etc.).

Trust me, if you think that your friend is a loser, then you're one - a true leader, and winner in life see's a champion in a homeless man.

You're doing your friends a favour brah, coz you're the loser deep down.

Depends If they are dragging you down or not. Some guys are losers when it comes to getting laid but great at computers etc. If they are bitter, Low energy people that waste their lives playing video games & eating junk i would ditch them. If they are «losers» because they arent hot enough to Get laid but work hard in life & want the best for you i wouldnt ditch them. Real friends are hard to come by. Most people in life are jealous, spiteful haters & you have to be doing better than them to know their true colors. Get a promotion ahead of your work friend or Get a girl has been thirsting over & you Can see his true colors.

Obviously more losers are haters than succesful brahs tho. So If they show Even a hint of jealousy or resent i would go NC for life.

If they are the proverbial crabs in a bucket to your ambition then cut them off. If they are just down on their luck/life ****ed them over bros then still be their bro as long as they aren't a lost cause.

life is too short for high maintenance friends. If you have to put a lot of effort into the friendship and you aren't getting anything beneficial out of it, cut ties. You don't have to say anything or burn the bridge but slowly just ghost out.

Just eventually ghost them. Most of us here know how snarky and jealous friends can be that we work out, get the girls, and so on. It becomes draining and they're not really your friends anyway. Have to just let them slip away if they're not on your team.

My feeling. If you feel you want to change groups because your new friends might motivate you or push you thats fine but nah don't cut then out unless they are dragging you down or something.

Get togethers are the best with the most people. I know a couple people who just don't care about status but they are legit the funniest people I know and honestly they have the biggest heart and give the best advice.
