Who would get your respect and awe the most. All other things being equal ofc.

A pilot is basically a high end Uber driver

Most doctor don’t know sh*t you bout the body. Never seen one with an impressive physique

Engineer is such a broad term.

And most lawyers are jokes. For every Johnnie Cochran you got 1000 dudes who passed the bar and show up to defend you wearing a suit with sneakers

docs usually know 1/5 of what you'd expect them to know, at best, and think far too much of themselves.
Attorneys often just enjoy screwing over other people.

Good points but the pilot would be able to make good money for a lot longer then the doctor since they can start flying a lot earlier.

You can also get the really cool fighter pilot then private jet pilot then commercial pilot career path.

Plus every time pilots fly with other people they're "saving lives" by not crashing the plane.

When you fly your life is always in the pilots hands, the vast majority of doctors do not save lives and never will ex. family doctors.

False. Engineers have saved more lives through water and sewer treatment alone than doctors could even dream about.

I swear this is what I was going to say.

Being a good surgeon is engineering on living bodies with varied structures + the mental/emotional tasks of interacting with people usually under some kind of stress and/or in pain.

If I HAD to pick 1......the Lawyer, because they can only teach you so much in school....if you're a good Lawyer a majority of it comes from your ability to think

Engineer....brb use formulas and programs all day
Doctor...brb know anatomy and follow protocol.
Pilot...brb take off and plane flies itself. Use procedure, protocol and instruments

If you have enough discipline you can be any of those. I will acknowledge that the top 5-10% of each field is in a different league.

Lawyer....brb here's the law, figure it out.

This is a good argument, but I didn't go with lawyer maybe because I haven't ever had a good one. IME they sell you, get the money, then any actual work is done by lower level office staff. If they can get more $$ from you then you might get a little attention.

Doctors are far and away more respected than the others. Engineers are just tradies with a few math classes. Lawyers are glorified paper pushers and sky truckers are just that.

I only go to top tier clinics when I need to and to become a doctor at one of those places you have to be top of your class on all levels.

Surgeons especially get my respect, that job takes nerves of steel.

if it's all so simple then you *******s should go and do it. or keep coping and telling yourself to do something that 'makes you happy' while your wallet is empty and sloots scoff at your tradie day job

the professions in the OP are generally the most respected in the world and pay very well to boot
