How do you improve your singing voice? Was in a singing mood after watching The Little Mermaid so I recorded myself and wowz I sound like a dying cat.

You were really solid up until “everything”, vocals like that require legit coaching / training to nail

I don’t even know what it’s called, portamento? But there’s a whole world of vocalization and breath control techniques that singers are trained to understand and execute, using the lungs and vocal chords like bodybuilders use muscle mass

just play scales on piano and sing the notes at the same time until you can nail them every time without searching for them

Use to be good at sight singing. In other words I could look at a line of notes and sing how it would sound on instrument. Really basic stuff chorus wise

your voice is pretty good. an easy way to train passively is to learn a musical instrument so that you can distinguish different notes easier. learning to play pop songs by ear on an instrument then singing with it would help develop your voice.
i'm not a singer b/c my vocal range is very limited but guitar/Fl studio seeped over into singing (recognizing sounds/notes)
