Satellites orbiting Earth is impossible - gtfih!! (math inside)
If you have a hockey puck on frictionless ice moving left...
... and you pull a string and give it velocity going down:

then the total speed increases:

So at every instant in time, a "satellite" would have this happen to it, and it would shoot off the "earth" because the speed would keep increasing

Wincel solved it boys.
Imagine having so little life left that you have to create alts for days to spam a forum full of boys because that's 99.95% of your life. 0.05% is jerking off to mature massage porn.
EDIT: Spot sold to Waymill. Never go without a day of pleasuring yourself with reinforced metal goodness

There are different layers to our atmosphere. If you completely leave the gravitational field of our planet you fly off
If you stay in the gravitational pull you “fall” over earth such as most satellites and the ISS.
If you stay long enough eventually you end up in a “decaying orbit” which brings you closer to earth until you eventually fall back down. This is how most satellites are recovered after there lifespan is over.
In order to avoid a decaying orbit you periodically use propellant to increase speed and stay in the desired orbit.
And the reason you don’t just keep increasing speed is air resistance. Once you get close enough to earth you rapidly decelerate

If we consider something without atmosphere - say the Ball Earth "orbitting" the Ball Sun
Why doesn't the Earth fly off, if the momentum is increasing?

In on mindless OP thread. Never did get an answer to that pesky Polaris issue, hmm.
The answer to the OPs non-point, as usual, results from a misunderstanding of basic physics and vectors. Force perpendicular to velocity along a path (as say, gravity affecting an object in circular orbit), does not change the speed, but rather direction.
In fact the work done to the object is 0 when the force is perpendicular to motion:
∫(F•ds, A->B) = 0 since vector F is orthogonal to vector ds.
But no work done = no change in kinetic energy = no change in speed. No, an object in circular orbit does not continually change speed. It does change direction.

If the sun wouldn’t do this, the orbit of the earth as is, is quite stable.Because the sun has more gravity than our tiny earth. The orbit is decaying just very slowly. Didn’t read, but fact is the average person (including OP) has 0 understanding of satellite physics in orbit
For instance many actually believe satellites move slowly in the perspective of the viewer on the ground and can actually remain inert like a drone (srs)
