What effects does gravity have on magnetic north? Being that magnetic north shift 50 miles or so a year?

That equation is still valid today.

The only issue I see with black holes is that photons are massless but gravity still affects them.

This is the difference between general relativity and quantum mechanics though.

String theory comes as close as anything to bridging the gap, but we have a long way to go to relate the two entirely.

The equation is still valid.

It is literally how we found Pluto. (Extremely small needle in an extremely large haystack)

So does gravity not work on "true north"?

Electromagnetism and Gravity are two different “forces” out of the four universal forces. (The strong and weak nuclear forces being the other two.

I put forces in quotes because while gravity appears to be a force, it is not. It is still considered one of the four forces though.

Gravity and electromagnetism do interact. But it is so subtle, in order to measure the impact of earths shifting magnetic field with respect to electromagnetism, you would need to posses technology that doesn’t exist. We can’t observe it.

The equations do the work for us.

I’m not sure what you are trying to get at, but trying to compare electromagnetism to gravity doesn’t take away from the validity of that equation.

Lol @ u asking all the relevant questions

That’s why physicists still can’t explain precisely what gravity is. They can only explain why which is a super dense core creating magnetic force on the surface of the planet. All matter tends to have inherent magnetic fields. Atoms themselves have them, which is how they keep neutrons and protons in their orbital field

The Higgs boson has been proven. It isn’t magnetism.

Higgs field is quantum mechanics. Yes it may fill in the gaps required by contradictions between the fundamental forces, but even you say it’s still very theoretical hinging on confirmation of a much larger theory (string theory) to justify contradictions that quantum mechanics often brings up

It’s just one piece of the puzzle in the quest to find a theory of everything. Likely why Hawking wasn’t much of a proponent of the Higgs theory
