Got pulled over tonight for not obeying traffic sign , first time in awhile

-was driving down busy road in traffic. Had to get 3 lanes over and couldn't make it to the exit i had to take to get to the grocery store

- thought I'd have to take the long way so kept driving until I saw that the other side of the road ( on coming traffic) was clear so I took a left and went through the exit thats meant for the people going that way


- cop comes out of now where put sirens on pull me over start giving me a lecture etc of what I did , he was acting really annoying then wrote me 200 $ fine , then followed me for the next bit

- not too bad considering i thought the fine was going to bed like 800 at first

No . No one was coming in the on coming lane . It was empty. Traffic was all going my way . And it wasn't a fast road ..just residential speeds to get to the exit over there lol

Nah I just complied. Thought he'd give me a warning but honestly the cop was a bit of a jerk ..like joking around calling me by my name after reading my license etc and saying oh you could have caused bad accident when there was nobody near there
