Why do they say Earth tilt causes seasons when Max/Min distance from sun is 85.807 bi
diameter of earth = 7926 miles
My calculations:
https://jsfiddle.net/g5q7n8c2/5/
Max - Min of an Earth orbit =686,463 miles
Why they saying "Tilt causes seasons" when according to their math the distance from the sun increases 85.8x the diameter of the Earth?

Because the distance variation is not high enough to matter temperature wise. (Pro tip: Dont see the distance variation as a multiple of earths diameter but as a percentage of the average distance from earth to sun, you will see it is not that high because the sun is so massively far away)
Light intensity has a much bigger impact on temperature, thus seasons. (Perpendicular light rays = giga heat = summer)

-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

Hate to break it to you, the earth isnt on a tilt, the reason for the season is the movement of the sun.

Has to do with the position of hemispheres relative to sunlight in specific positions as it completes a full orbit around the sun
In other words, the different hemispheres are closer/further away from the sun at different times of the year. That’s why the sun is lower in the sky during winter (colder) and higher in summer

Why is the equator warmer than the north or south?

Earth's tilt, steadied by Luna's gravity is what gives Earth's its seasons, not the distance from the sun.
Sun shines directly on the equator and the tropics
-tropics = latitude of 0-23.5 degrees above and below the equator)
The suns rays bounce off the earth only to fall back down on the sub tropics
-Subtropics = 23 to like 66 degrees (ish) above and below equator

Then heat flows from high to low, just like pressure, to the temperate zones which makes it much cooler by the time it usually reaches there.
