I think most of us will agree that social media in its current state is a severe net-negative to society and human psychology.

With that said, i think its in natural order for social media to die a natural death OR evolve into something drastically less harmful. I simply dont believe it will sustain and indefinitely keep harming society—humans are simply to well equipped for adaptation and survival.

Personally im not sure which way it will go. on one hand there seems to be too much potential for it to simply die but on the other hand it is clear it is incapable of being a net-positive while it is in the hands of humans. So perhaps it will need a full AI solution to save it before its too late.
