455 x 10 Deadlift

Yes we're still posting lifting videos on a BB forum

Felt pretty good about this one, never done more than 405 for 10 reps. I couldn't feel my hands after about 7 or 8, which may have been a limiting factor. My hips were also getting quite tired.

This is also one day after a heavy bench session, got 325 for multiple sets of 6. Fukkin hell these numbers just continue to rise idk what is going on.

Good **** man but why are you deadlifting for 10 reps? This a hypertrophy thing? Do you find you have better progress in that range? Are you following a program? Just curious.

I was training for a strongman comp where it had DL for reps and the weights weren’t that high. I was dreading having to start to train in that rep range but then covid wrecked everything anyways.

I do more than this with a crippled right arm that doesn't lock out, is broken in 10 different places, and is an inch a half smaller than my left arm. But I mean yeah I guess good job on your leveraged deadlifts. The deadlift isn't a test of strength. Only running back training is.

I’m curious about something OP. Did you take a break during quarantine? I took a 5 months break and noticed my gains exploding after I get back. Caught up and set new PRs. I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this as well.

I think the most impressive thing about your lift is the grip strength. You are taking really long for those reps and after a certain weight holding on to the bar without straps seems hard as hell to me.

I typically don't do sets of 10, I stay in the 2-5 range for s/b/d, but I occasionally do AMRAPs at various weights as a nice mix of conditioning, strength, and hypertrophy. Just so happens my AMRAP at 455 was 10 reps.

Well you are hotter, stronger, and faster than me. And probably like 75 lb. heavier. Anyway, do runningbacks squat you think?

I did, took probably a 3 month break and came back to 365 squat, 315 bench, and probably 435 deadlift. In the last 6 months or so, I've gotten to 495/365/545 and IDK wtf is going on. Haven't even gained any weight aside from the occasional bloat from a vacation or whatnot.

Feels, I put the round plates on first because they're just ever so slightly larger, so the hex plates don't make good contact with the ground and don't roll the bar around when I'm on the floor. If I don't do TnG reps though, it will move around a good bit.

No they don't have to. REmember? Myostatin deficiency. They just grow like dumb little fuking plants with miracle grow poured all over them.

OP, you inspired me to go for 495 x10, but my grip failed me at 8. Your reps definitely prettier too.

Goddamn son, still great job. Them hex plates ain't helping, but you get +2 reps for it being a home gym so you basically got it for 10.
