Just got offered a position

Currently contracted to work at a company, and they offered me a position to convert to FTE. It comes with a 20% raise. Already made good money, but now I'm pretty fukin' set.

How do you get a raise going from contracting to a full time employee? Were you getting benefits etc as a contractor?


In my current company, going from a regular employee to contractor = a 20% bump by default

lol probably was getting stiffed by the contracting company. also, had been working there for like 8 months, so overdue for a raise either way.

Gz OP, what do you expect your W2s to look like at the end of 2021? I'm hoping for $95k-100k depending on bonuses and OT (without that I'd be expecting closer to $75k).

Contracting companies will get over 2x what you are paid. It saves the company money. Think I remember when I was a contractor the company was getting $75/hour and I was only get $32/hour lol

Yeah they're definitely screwing you in a case like that. They should get a mark-up on your pay rate when billing their Client but that's obscene, making off like bandits when they could be paying you much more


In my line of work, we incorporate and contract directly to companies
