How Ticketmaster Plans to Check Your Vaccine Status for Concerts

Here's how it would work, if approved: After purchasing a ticket for a concert, fans would need to verify that they have already been vaccinated (which would provide approximately one year of COVID-19 protection) or test negative for coronavirus approximately 24 to 72 hours prior to the concert. The length of coverage a test would provide would be governed by regional health authorities -- if attendees of a Friday night concert had to be tested 48 hours in advance, most could start the testing process the day before the event. If it was a 24-hour window, most people would likely be tested the same day of the event at a lab or a health clinic.

The one time I'm glad I bought the ticket insurance for a full refund minus the 8$ insurance. Was supposed to go see Kaleo and it was pushed back to May next year. I really doubt concerts will be worth the price of admission and booze and travel anymore to be worth it for the next year, maybe two.

In theory it's not a bad idea, but when you realize ticket master isn't the only place to buy tickets it seems to defeat the purpose... also based on what they said ticket master wouldn't have access to your health records it would just be a "approved" or "denied" type thing they get from the 3rd party systems that would actually have your records which is good, but either way I assume some data breach will occur and everyone's records will leak online at some point. Big time no from me dawg.

So you have to have a vaccine that isn't even out yet and we know little about. NEAT!

- We don't know for sure how effective it will be. If it is less than 100% then you could be a positive asymptomatic case and spread it to everyone at the concert.
- What happens when big daddy pharma has more than one vaccine and you take the other? What happens if you bought Betamax vaccine, but Ticketmaster only accepts VHS and the two don't mix in your system?
- My wife has tried for over a week to get tested and her doctor and the hospital basically told her no because she doesn't have symptoms. Granted, SHE DID a week ago when she tried to get in but she had to wait 3 days before they'd call her back because they weren't good enough symptoms. That flat out told her they were saving the tests for sick people (read: Can't have those negative results screwing up the doctored govt positivity rate!)
- brb paying hundreds of dollars to book the tickets months in advance for a good concert and then not being able to go because your test doesn't come back in time. Destination: Refund City (best case) or Lawsuit Junction.
- Tickets...meh. But wait until this becomes the standard if you want to attend school, fly on an airplane, eat indoors, buy at a retail store. "And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark [vaccine]"
